Here’s one of two new characters introduced in this story arc that were named in honor of some friends of mine. Captain Baker was named after a co-worker, Steve Baker, at Florida Power and Light who eventually became my boss until I left to go work for Disney. He was a big supporter of mine from the beginning and always wanted to be in one of my books. Izzy did a great job designing his look too.

IN part 50, Captain Barker pleads with Mike “to recover the missing supplies” yet a few pages back, before we see Tariq on the camera, Captain Barker states the pirates “didn’t take any of the supplies, they just took the children.”

You Uhl, should be an editor. You have no idea how many times I’ve read this story and not noticed that gaffe. I’m tempted to go back and adjust #50 to refer to the children instead.

I didn’t realize it was a gaffe, I just figured that something wasn’t quite right with Capt. Baker.
